Hot Dip Galvanizing Process

Process of Hot Dip Galvanizing

Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process where a metal is submerged in molten zinc to protect against rust and corrosion. Zinc acts by reacting with the metal to form a protective coating.

    Process of Galvanizing:
  • Step 1: The metal is degreased to remove contaminants.
  • Step 2: It is immersed in a dilute solution of acid.
  • Step 3: It is immersed in water for rinsing.
  • Step 4: The metal is immersed in a flux solution for fluxing.
  • Step 5: Then the metal is heated over a hot plate.
  • Step 6: It is then galvanized by dipping it into molten zinc.
  • Step 7: It is immersed in room-temperature water for quenching.
  • Step 8: Finally, it is immersed in a dichromate for passivation and is ready to get inspected.
  • This process is cost-effective and it offers excellent protection.
